Husband and I enjoyed our meal - we had the lamb shank. Found the menu a bit limited, but still nice. The service was fantastic - loved our server, he was so helpful and enthusiastic. Make a reservation.- Tripadvisor

From beginning to end the whole experience was just lovely. The staff made us feel so very special and were attentive without being intrusive. The scallops and chowder for starters were so good we shared them! I had the venison pie and mash - oh my goodness it was delicious and my husband had the Hake risotto which was equally as good - so light and delicate. I certainly recommend if you are visiting Skye you book in here to eat! (TRIPADVISOR)

A BIG thank you to the lady on reception here at the Rosedale. We had booked elsewhere and the owner had let us down, so we found ourselves after a 5 hour drive in a town that was 'fully booked'....everywhere! She pulled out all the stops and managed to get us in a room that had been vacated early. The room was tremendous, with a beautiful sea/harbour view. Location is superb, and with the addition of the view it makes this hotel special. The hotel is clean throughout and reasonably priced for what you get. We did note that the wallpaper is old fashioned 'woodchip' so maybe worth updating? Not sure on disabled access as there's a staircase up to the bar/dining area.Overall a pleasant stay.Thankyou

The food was excellent - very fresh and imaginatively prepared. Loved the field mushrooms, which were collected locally and tasted wonderful. The view out to the harbor was great as well.

I’d stayed in this hotel previously, but not had dinner there for some reason, and what a mistake that was! The food is beautiful and tasty, with an attentive and friendly staff. You’re not rushed to eat, which I very much appreciated. I’m sure if you manage to go earlier in the evening you’d have a lovely view of the harbour as well!

To contextualize: I just finished a two-week UK trip with both my parents (turning 70 this fall). We started with 4 nights in London, then 2 nights in Port Isaac, then one night in Edinburgh, then 2 nights in Portree, then 2 nights back in Edinburgh, and back to London for one night before heading back to the US.We had been warned about making dinner reservations in Portree ahead of time. Our visit was further complicated by the fact that we were in town on the Monday of Queen Elizabeth's funeral, which was a day that MANY businesses closed. Not only would the Rosedale take online reservations, but they did not cancel our reservation due to the national day of mourning. We arrived a bit early and had a drink in the bar before being seated for dinner. The three of us split two appetizers (pork belly and the seafood chowder) and then each had a main dish (hake risotto, aranchini, and I forget the third!) plus drinks. It was not a cheap evening by any means, but I had hoped that this would be one of our "nice" dinners while in the UK and I was NOT disappointed. The service was impeccable and we enjoyed every bite of our food in a lovely setting. I don't know when (if ever) we will be back in Portree, but if we are, I would absolutely return here for another meal. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Rosedale hotel for three nights, the room was lovely, the only downside it was on the side of the road so the windows were partially blocked so people couldn't see in, but we couldn't see out either, which made the room slightly dark. Breakfast the first morning, was lovely, the waiter Peter was absolutely brilliant he also served us at the evening meal and was excellent once again, a great asset to the hotel. However the breakfast on the last morning it was obviously Peter's day off. We booked for 7.30 when we arrived we were told that we would have to wait for the breakfast but we could have tea and coffee, however about 15 mins later the waiter came to take our order, we ordered muesli to be followed by the cooked breakfast, the milk for the muesli arrived then 10 mins later the muesli and the cooked breakfast both arrived together, we explained to the waitress that we were not ready for the cooked breakfast, she didn't really know what to do eventually she took the cooked breakfast away only the bring it back 10 mins later it had been put under a hot lamp the eggs were hard and the rest of the breakfast was dry. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

A very lovely hotel. We spent two nights in a pretty and cozy room overlooking the harbour. Room was comfortable and shower hot (albeit occasionally scaldingly so). Staff members were very charming and helpful. One organised me surprise Prosecco for my new wife and a sorted us taxis to dinner on a night where the weather was grim. One evening we ate in the hotel restaurant. The food was very pleasant indeed and the dishes were quite imaginative (I could have eaten buckets of the smoked beetroot). All in all, lovely stay.

We visited the Rosedale hotel from 18th Sep to 20th Sep. The room was basic but very clean, great location, beautiful view of the harbour. The staff were very friendly and attentive, a credit to the hotel. Very nice breakfast was delivered to our room at the time requested. Ate at the hotel restaurant, the food was delicious and service was exceptional, would highly recommend eating there.Overall a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

Nice hotel by the bay. A bit old but cozy environment. The room is large, comfortable with the bay view. The staff is friendly, breakfast is delivered to your room, and the supermarket COOP in 1-minute walking. There is no private parking, and there are few public parking lots nearby. If you did not park your car during the day, you get a quest to find an empty parking lot in the evening.

Despite the difficulties of COVID, my stay at the Rosedale was perfect. The staff were outstandingly friendly and had made specific arrangements to ensure safety and comfort throughout my stay. The location is phenomenal with outstanding views across the harbour. Loved the friendly staff and welcome I received and they even volunteered a discount on my agreed rate in light of single occupancy.I would not hesitate to returning and look forward to it.

This hotel was so lovely- could not get any better location wise, our room (number 14) had a lovely 4 poster bed, with two seats in front of a window looking over the bay. We felt very safe- the hotel had put in place some COVID-19 restrictions which worked well. We were able to order breakfast which was delivered directly to our room each morning. Kalisi the hotel receptionist was so lovely- she was very helpful with regards to activities on the island and really made us feel at home. We will be back in the future for sure! Great value for money - THANK YOU for having us!

The room was very poor for a cost of £128 I would advise people to think twice about booking a stay at the hotel. The whole building requires a serious up grade. My door rattled all night due to the door lock screws being loose. Furniture was well by its sell by date, bed springs could be felt whilst lying on it. To the hotel owner half the cost would be too much to pay for this accommodation.

Great find, overlooking the harbour with picture postcard stunning views! Room was lovely and clean, nice sized bathroom. We ate in the socially distanced restaurant, every precaution was covered for Covid. Food was fabulous! Recommend you book all restaurants before you travel to avoid disappointment, capacity in most places reduced therefore limited space available.Kalisy in reception was so helpful and nothing was a problem. We enjoyed our stay so much we hope to return again next year.

Room was spotless & had a grand four poster bed. Our view was great if a little blocked by some parked cars BUT we never came to Portree to stay in room. There was a smell of dampness in room & entrance way in. We advised receptionist & manager who apologized & compensated our stay. The food was excellent & worth a visit even if your not staying. We loved the attention given by all the attentive staff who are a credit to the hotel.

We stayed here for one night after spending a week on isle of Harris. Our ferry was delayed so we were later than expected checking in. This was no problem at all with the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. We were in one of the atticooms and a member of staff carried our suitcase up for us as my husband was trying to park at the time. That is the only annoying thing about this hotel - there is no proper parking. We were told that there are spaces right outside, but they are not designated for the hotel and as it is right on the harbour they were all full (this probably happens quite often). It is also tricky to turn a car around as it is a narrow road with a bend, we had to reverse bacm. The hotel told us to park at the council car park, which was free and open overnight, but it is a few minutes drive away- not ideal. Going back to the hotel though - it was a lovely and comfy room, spacious, warm, large bathroom. Due to the pandemic the breakfast was brought up to our room and it was hot, fresh and tasty. We really liked it. It consisted of a hot drink, hot filled roll, cereal bar, apple, shortbread and a carton of orange juice, all you need!

The Rosedale Hotel was very well-located -- our room had a view of the pretty harbor with its colored houses. Small-plates restaurant was excellent, modern cuisine, nice simple modern interior. Dinner was tasty and different from most other places we'd been in Scotland. The included breakfast was also very good -- excellent porridge, as well as eggs and toast.Great hotel staff -- Laura was super helpful. Room was big and comfortable, with old fashioned dresser drawers, but bathroom was quite small and it was hard to shower. The tiny tub had no shower curtain or glass panel, and the tub was too small and narrow to really sit in comfortably. We managed, and liked the hotel despite this, but if shower facilities are important to you, you should know this. Also, the hotel is a quirky warren of connected older houses, and our room was up several flights of narrow stairs (no lift, but the helpful hotel staff offered to bring our large suitcases up and down again, so it was not a problem). We would stay again if we are back that way.

Not your typical hotel, and that is why we liked it. You will follow a maze of stairs, landings and corridors to find your way to treasures such as rooms with amazing harbor views, a quiet bar alcove, or the cheerful top floor restaurant (which is safe for GF diners). The food was fantastic.I would not recommend this lodging for anyone with a mobility impairment due to limited accessibility.

Good location, reasonable room, lovely welcoming staff.Bit overpriced for the room but at the height of summer you can’t really expect a cheap room in the main tourist location
Reviewer: Liam C | Tue 2nd Jul 2019 | 5 years ago
Very welcoming staff, room was spacious if a little dated. The view was spectacular over the pier of Portree. Only real complaint I would say is the shower, curtain rather than screen and open at the end so splashed all over the floor, small issue however and would definitely stay again.

Warm welcome with the lady in reception walking me to the three rooms our group had been allocated which was very helpful given the layout of the establishment which is quirky but unique. The rooms were comfortable (again, interestingly shaped in places given the unique nature of the building - watch the sloped and lowish ceilings!) and the room my wife and I had on the top floor had a wonderful view of the harbor with a large window sill to sit on and gaze out or to read a book. The restaurant was excellent, the tapas style seemed an odd chocie initially but everyone in our group enjoyed it a great deal. Breakfast too was great and the service was brilliant. Would happily go back if we find ourselves in Portree again some day.

The room is large. The decor is unremarkable. The bed is comfortable. There is no top sheet, as is common in Scotland, but it wasn’t a problem because it wasn’t too hot to sleep with the comforter at night. The bathroom is large. The separate soaking tub and walk-in shower are lovely. However, I couldn’t use the tub because the drain wouldn’t seal. There is no air conditioning. There is no thermostat to control the heat in the room. They control the heat centrally in the hotel. It was cool enough to sleep well at night. The location is great. It’s right in the heart of town. The breakfast is good. The service is great. The welcome whisky, shortbread, and tablet (Scottish fudge) was a very nice touch.Of the 6 hotels/B&Bs we stayed in Scotland, this is the only place they offered to help with our luggage. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was truly exceptional!  It was local Scottish cuisine and local seafood.  When we read that it was tapas, we assumed it was Spanish food.  By tapas, they simply mean small plates.  We are so glad we wound up eating there  It was the best meal of our 8 dinners in Ireland and 8 dinners in Scotland by far!  Everything was absolutely delicious!

Every member of the staff at this perfectly located hotel treated us with kindness and joy. From the welcome whiskey and treat, to the gorgeous tapas dinner (extra) to the delicious breakfast, we were delighted. And when I was asked how they might do better, a genuine question at checkout, all I could offer was that bathrooms have facecloths.Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Neil checked us in and treated us to both his mother's fabulous shortbread cookies and a welcome glass of whiskey, as well as offering to make a dinner reservation for us at an excellent restaurant. But more important, the staff there was friendly in a very genuine way and both efficient and helpful.

I had a comfortable two night stay at the Rosedale. The description of the harbourside location and character of the building is perfectly accurate. A wee dram on arrival was a welcoming touch. The staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout. I had been advised in advance that my single room had no sea view and was above the kitchen and was expecting a cupboard and so was pleasantly surprised to find a perfectly adequate room.I appreciated the bathroom having an exterior window and a bath as well as a shower and the hot water, as they warned, was hot.Although, I think, the hotel was full there was no sound from other guests' rooms. There was a bit of banging of the adjacent 'public' toilet door but not late into the evening. The restaurant menu is exclusively Scottish tapas and is highly to be recommended for quality as well as the novelty. While dining I enjoyed watching the arrival in the bay of a millionaire's super yacht.Breakfast had most of the usual Scottish breakfast staples available. I was slightly surprised on the second morning when I ordered much the same as on the previous day to receive a portion twice the size.

Great position and great view from the hotel breakfast room. Thanks to Laura for her very warm welcome.A couple of constructive comments: we did not expect a room just in front of the main street (this should be informed in advance) and the water jet of the shower was really too strong (almost painful!).

We absolutely loved the location and charm of this hotel!Within 15 minutes we were impressed, as Caleesi knew both our names. She was genuinely interested in hearing the details of our daily exploits and made us feel welcome for the entirety of our stay.Mike was entertaining each time we visited the bar and involved each patron in good conversation.Mike and Caleesi were definitely the heart of the hotel. The food was amazing, with beautiful presentation and exceptionally flavorful. Our dinner there was the best out of any restaurant we experienced while on our trip to Scotland.Parking can be tight at times and navigating the stairs within the hotel can initially be a challenge, however those minor quirks do not diminish what a gem this hotel is in Portree.

We had a warm and friendly welcome. The hotel location and harbor view are amazing, however, we would have appreciate a sincere description regarding parking. The website is not clear that the available places are very limited and you might have to search a parking spot on the surrounding streets - something a little bit stressful in Portree. Although this small point, everything was perfect: breakfast, reception, bar and location. We would stay at The Rosedale Hotel again.

The Rosedale Hotel enjoys an amazing location in the heart of Skye and of Portree. The views on the bay are amazing and so is the food served at the restaurant. The rooms in itself are in need of a refreshement and the bathrrom is clearly under par, sometimes no hot water is available. But who really cares when you are lucky enough to stay in such an amazing place?
Reviewer: Chevalley A | Mon 22nd Apr 2019 | 5 years ago
The welcome and support was indeed warm; the front desk managers took trouble to plan routes around Skye for me too. My room was unexpectedly changed for a room with a lovely harbor view, which was very welcome. It was reasonable in price, clean, comfy and the bathroom was clean and shower robust. The bar was cosy as was the small harbor overview dinning room with very attentive and cheerful ladies who served. My only observation is that the tasty roast lamb main course turned out disappointing thin and small (2 Jacob’s crackers’ size) albeit modestly priced ! Please serve bigger portions!Would like to return to this central quiet hotel.

We were welcomed by Laura on our arrival with fresh shortbread, tablet and a tot of whisky. She proved an excellent host and fount of knowledge on the best way to accomplish our wish list of things to see on Skye. Her tips and recommendations helped to make our holiday. The Rosedale hotel is a gem of a hotel. You are greeted by a friendly receptionist offering a complimentary whisky and shortbread. The hotel is full of winding stairs and corridors giving a unique experience due to it being a number of cottages joined. The room was comfortable and clean.

A cute and affordable hotel right on the Portree harbor. We were very late arriving, and kept delaying arrival over the course of the day, as our ferry from the Outer Hebrides was also late. The staff stayed awake until almost MIDNIGHT to let us in. So kind and helpful. Room was clean, nice, simple, breakfast was good.

Nice hotel with stunning views over the Bay at Portree Harbour. Also very close to the town centre. The team at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, the room was great and breakfast enjoyable. The only negative is the amount of stairs in the hotel as it has no lift/elevator

This is a small older style Hotel in very good location overlooking Portree Harbour. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good view. Beware, there are stairs, but this is not uncommon in the U.K.Very good restaurant for dinner and enjoyed our breakfast.Very friendly staff, especially the Manager/Owner who found us accomodation at our next destination.Would definitely stay again.

It was a nice, clean and cozy room, the hotel assistance (so sorry forget the name) with specs was really helpful! Assisted the four of us with our 20kg luggage up and down the stairs and even to the portree bus station when it was raining. Breakfast was good! Only downside was the internet connection was not good. Overall, had a really pleasant stay!

It was an amazing stay with great hospitality from the Rosedale Hotel team. The room is amazing, the food is delicious, and the harbour view is splendid. The great weather definitely complemented the stay as well. The staff were attentive to our requests, and were able to assist us with our early departure (at 6am) by preparing for us packed breakfast (sandwich, fruits, crisps, and water) the night before. Definitely a great place to stay!

I stayed with you for 2 nights while on holiday with my son. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The room was wonderful, bathroom large w/ modern amenities and the view of the harbor was stupendous! We also really appreciated the level of service from the staff, including Kirsten, Neil, Elaine and Lucy. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, even sticking around to chat w/ us late night in the pub!The only thing, and it's a bit nitpicky, is that we found the prices in the restaurant to be a bit steep and didn't really line up to prices we saw at other restaurants in town. Couldn't really see a reason why the restaurant justified the premium prices and it seemed, based on number of people dining there, that folks had figured this out.All in all, great stay and great staff. Would highly recommend this hotel to others and I'm intending say just that on TripAdvisor!Duff Hall

Rosedale hotel was brilliant - we had a room with a view of the harbour and for the first time both room and bath room were huge. Breakfast included was perfect. Staff were so helpful and obliging. No wifi in the room was a little annoying but it was in the lounge and breakfast room. The hotel is perfectly located to stroll to other restaurants for dinner - but at the time we were there bookings were essential. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it .

This was the only hotel in Scotland that gave us a warm welcome by way of a wee dram (whisky) and a piece of tablet. After this hospitable welcome we were amazed at the size of our room (No 4) . The fact that the room had two entrances was also much appreciated. This allowed for an easier access to town without having to go back via reception. We were advised when booking and on check in that the restaurant was closed. This did give us reservations about breakfast but glad to say that The Rosedale breakfast was superb. The tables of two in the window that overlook the harbour were delightful. As 3G phone signal very hit and miss in the Highlands and Islands, Internet access for guests would have made me award this hotel a five star rating. All things considered a very nice place to stay in Portree. Thank you Rosedale Hotel

Next to the quay located with view to the harbor and the sea it is a good pick.Only that there was no WLAN available and the rooms a bit small was a negative.
Reviewer: Mr. S | Mon 8th Aug 2016 | 8 years ago
The Rosedale in Portree sits right on the water, tucked into the rock escarpment. The design, while practical, has the appearance of a charming seaside Scottish home. And home it is, once you've been welcomed with a wee dram and bit of butter tablet. The wee dram is so welcoming, you'll wish you could have one every day.No view anywhere could be so pretty as the one of the quay from the breakfast room each morning.Portree may have the most beautiful harbour I've ever seen.No wonder the king claimed it!Add a cheerful, hospitable staff and nothing could be better.Ground floor rooms can be dank and musty, something that could be improved, but comfort and warmth, charm and hospitality are all tops.Reception staff are knowledgable of the area and its attractions and can help with your plans. All in all, a lovely place to stay for the able bodied.Sleep tight.

Nice place, friendly and helpful staff, room and bathroom is totally satisfactory, good breakfast arrangements, the lounge is unfortunately not a place I'd like to stay, no internet connection in a hotel is really not up to date, a hotel of this price range should find a solution...I would recommend the hotel.

I don't normally leave reviews, well except if I am upset with the hotel, however in this case I will. The Rosedale at the moment needs slightly updating, which talking to the owner, they will do in the closed season this year. However all this pales into insignificance against the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Anything they could do to help, they did, with a cheerfulness not seen in most hotels I have stayed at (I have stayed at a lot). When i go back to Skye the Rosedale would certainly be my first choice to stay in.Brian Welsh

We stayed at the Rosedale hotel for 2 night during August and would happily return if we are ever visiting the Isle of Skye again. We had an attic room which was quiet and well appointed. The hotel is located at the old fishing port and was originally 3 fishermans cottages and has loads of character. The room was clean and nicely decorated and the staff were very helpful and professional. There was a kettle etc and TV in the room. The free wifi only worked in the bar and restaurant (thick stone walls). The restaurant on the first floor is also good. Portree itself is a good base for visiting the Isle of Skye and has plenty of places to eat. Would recommend to my friends.

The hotel is beautiful; the food is outstanding! This is one of my favorite hotels in Scotland.

The hotel is situated right on the picturesque Portree harbour and is a wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly and the room was lovely, with a great view of the harbour. The restaurant in the hotel is technically separate for dinner but also very good. Only slight complaint is that a full cooked breakfast costs extra (and isn't cheap) but overall I really enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is in a very nice location and, in general, a good and nice place. Reception people was very friendly. However our room number 6 was located above the restaurant and the noise of the people and the music were disturbing in the room.

A great place to stay from the telephone booking, the friendly staff on arrival, lovely room (fantastic bed and HUGE bathroom!!)and great meals. It IS a little quirky but it's a real hotel and it's very nice. If you want a homogenous, sterile place to stay, then this isn't for you but it was a REALLY special stay for us in all respects.

Our flight was delayed which made our arrival time 11 hours late. WIth the late flight and the drive we arrived at the Rosedale at 330am. We knocked on the door exhausted and hoped someone would answer or we would have to sleep in the car. Thankfully a woman was waiting for us at 3am, showed us our room, and let us have a late checkout. These people are amazing. BTW the view is amazing out of the hotel and great breakfast. Thank you very much Rosedale.

The Rosedale Hotel is an excellent place to stay while you explore the beautiful Isle of Skye. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is wonderful. The quirky layout of the hotel just adds to the charm. Would definitely stay here again if I make a return visit to Skye.

This hotel is a most interesting repurposing of some early houses but keeps the essence of its history. It is quite comfortable, a perfect location overlooking the harbor. The staff is most helpful.Excellent breakfast for guests.

Prettige ontvangst.

The room was clean and big. The bed was comfortable. The halls and lobby could use some refurbishing.Wifi is only available in the lounge and lobby and wasn't working most of the time we were there. Staff was friendly.

We stayed two nights in April and just loved this location on the Harbour. Our room at the front had a great water view and was very quiet. The assorted seafood breakfast and harbour view from the restaurantlaunched this hotel into one of our best ever breakfast locations.

We stayed here for two nights in June and didn't regret our choice. We upgraded to a sea view room and were pleased that we did.The hotel is situated right on the harbour front and although parking is limited, we didn't find it a problem at all. The food was good although you had to pay a supplement if you wanted the Scottish breakfast and staff in the restaurant were not quite as accommodating and friendly as the hotel staff who were excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, comfortable room overlooking the harbour. The layout is bit quirky but do not let that put you off. The food in the in the restaurant was just great! (Booking advised as it is popular with non residents too). As ever the staff can make or break a place like this.. no worries on this score as the hospitality is first class. Thank you

Enjoyed an absolutely splendid one night stay at the Rosedale with two friends. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, above what would be expected or received elsewhere. Views were stunning. Rooms cleanand warm. Those towards the lounge area could be a little noisy but earplugs if your sensitive should suffice and to be expected of a lovely characterful old building. Wos recommend to all.

Lovely view, room was fine and restaurant excellent. But the bar needs re-thinking! (no view, limited space, mixture of bar and lounge, hot drinks difficult to get, smells a bit musty!)

Small hotel with tight lobby and hallways. Clean rooms with basic comfort. Plumbing was good. Comfortable lounge upstairs. Staff super friendly and welcomed us with a small dram of local whisky. Located right on harbor in a cute area of town.Parking is available in front and at end of street. No wifi in rooms just in public area. TIP: there is a nearby restaurant across the street called "Lower Deck Seafood" that is really great!! It gets crowded and a waiting line forms, so get there at opening for a table without the wait

After many years away from Skye it was wonderful to return.Initially we thought we had decided to travel too far in one day however we managed what in the past would have taken two. The hotel was very comfortable and close to town. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our stay very much. must come more often in the future especially when you haven,t to catch a ferry to get there. Thankyou very much for a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in April and absolutely loved the experience. The hotel is perfectly located at the edge of the bay with a view of the shops and water. Not only was the hotel clean and comfortable, but the staff were incredibly friendly. The manager, Paul, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable by giving us recommendations, maps, and insider tips of where to go and what to see. My only regret is that we couldn't stay here longer!

I stayed at the Rosedale for 4 days during my two-week visit to the UK.In addition to the fact that I simply adored Skye, the Rosedale was a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The bedroom and the bath were very spacious and clean. The plumbing worked great (something that we didn't get at later lodgings). All of the staff, from the reception desk to the ladies serving my breakfast, were extremely friendly and helpful.I would definitely stay here again.

The Rosedale has a great location on the waterfront. We had a very large room, which was much appreciated. The servers at breakfast were eager to please.Only warning, which they stress on their website is that the hotel is not appropriate for guests with mobility issues, due to the up and down stairs.Otherwise a good deal.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rosedale Hotel. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. We loved our room #26 and the view.I would love to come back to your hotel and will tell my friends if they go to Skye to stay at the Rosedale. The only glitch was the restaurant, which I understand is leased from the Rosedale. The service in the restaurant was so different from the hotel. We had to call the server over to ask for a drink sometime after we had been seated with the menu.We also had to call the server over to place our order. We really felt ignored. The couple sitting behind us also shared the same experience.I hope you will pass this info along to the restaurant manager as the food was very good, but the service terrible enough to discourage me from returning.I had also booked our table a month in advance, but was denied a window seat when I arrived because they were booked.During our meal two window tables remained vacant.

We actually changedRooms because it was such a disgustingView. So my advice is to get the town councilTo act on this problem. It really hurt my viewOf the rosedale as a destination and that is aShame

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rosedale! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the room and accommodations were very comfortable, and the stairways are really good for a story or two! The manager was extremely helpful in getting us back to Edinburgh and we found Loch of the Lowes on the way.My cousin's married name is Lowe and she was thrilled to find another family "connection" in Scotland! These Stewarts will return to Scotland and will be sure to visit the Rosedale Hotel again. Thanks for everything!

Thank you for the great stay! Everybody was very friendly and we had a warm welcome. the rooms were lovely and the location of the hotel was very special. All happend like it was planed and expected and everything was perfect, thank you!For the restaurant, which is without a doubt very good and has a wonderful atmosphere there is just one little advice: The service is very friendly, but we felt it very often a littlebit hectic, confused and hastily. Also the handling with the dishes and the cutlery was very noisy. If the service could be more calm and confident it can be more easy to take pleasure and enjoy the food in this very nice tiny restaurant with its outstanding food. I hope this advice would be considered as positive. Thank you!

There is no wifi in the rooms. Besides, When I was on the Booking's website, I noticed that most of hotels accept the parents with child under age of 18 in a twin room or double bed room without exceptional bed. Rosedale does not follow that. However, I like the style of the furnitures. The boss at the reception was also very friendly and easy-going.
